- Energy – Action must be taken to reduce our reliance on foreign sources of fuel. Development of domestic oil and gas reserves, a continued commitment to biofuels and development of renewable resources must be a part of the solution.
- Immigration Reform – Florida Farm Bureau Federation has made immigration reform and guest worker legislation a priority. Without seasonal farm labor or foreign guest workers what would happen to our safe, abundant and affordable food supply? Maintaining a willing, viable, legal workforce is especially important to Florida producers, who depend on hand labor to harvest their crops. Read Article "Don't Tie Our Hands" by Dana Brooks
- FFA/Vocational Programs in Hillsborough County Schools – these programs have been reduced and are in threat of further downsizing. Hillsborough County Farm Bureau Federation is working with the Hillsborough County School Board to impress upon them the importance of these programs and our support for FFA and Vocational classes.
- Governor Crist’s Executive Order 07-127 – Farm Bureau oppose the plans to adopt California’s motor vehicle emission standards, to seek greater reductions of CO2, sooner than Florida would otherwise. This program will cede Florida’s regulatory authority to California – a state that is vastly different, has not shown Florida’s commitment to ethanol, and has no accountability to Florida Residents.
